AGA Systems Awarded EPA Certification for CNG 2014 GM Compact SUVs

AGA Systems, LLC, Utah-based designer and manufacturer of proprietary CNG bi-fuel systems, has received full US EPA Certification for bi-fuel CNG applications on the 2014 General Motors Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain line of compact SUVs equipped with the 2.4 L direct injection engine.
The new CNG bi-fuel Equinox and Terrain achieved 33 mpg (11.68 kpl) highway test results. AGA Systems will provide the vehicles in a choice of the Cargo Configuration (55 cu ft cargo capacity) or the Passenger Configuration (seats 5).
Bryan Wilcox, Vice President of AGA Systems, explains, “This system represents some significant CNG vehicle firsts: the first bi-fuel compact SUV and the first GM direct-injection engine for which full EPA Certification has been awarded in a bi-fuel configuration.” Wilcox added that when fitted with CNG systems the compact SUVs provide the opportunity to see real savings with a smaller, more fuel efficient vehicle.
AGA Systems-supplied and EPA-certified CNG bi-fuel conversions are used by municipal and state agencies, private and public companies and individual consumers who want to make the smart transition to natural gas-powered vehicles, now including the popular GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox.
The Terrain/Equinox bi-fuel CNG upgrade is available from the AGA Systems installer network throughout the US.
