U.S. companies Mainstay Fuel Technologies of South Carolina and Fontaine Modification of North Carolina have reached an agreement to provide a turnkey process for the delivery and installation of CNG fuel systems on Class 8 heavy-duty, over-the-road tractors. Mainstay has also made arrangements with Watson Engineering for the provision of components and fabrication services for it’s proprietary on-board CNG fuel storage and delivery systems for heavy duty commercial vehicles. Watson has a manufacturing presence in the Carolinas.
Fontaine will install the back-of-cab and side-saddle CNG fuel storage, management and delivery systems manufactured by Mainstay. “Fontaine’s footprint and industry expertise will allow us to better serve our Class 8 fleet customers with a turnkey on-board CNG solution,” said Sam McEntyre, Mainstay COO.
Mainstay manufactures complete CNG fuel storage and delivery systems for Class 6, 7, and 8 heavy-duty trucks. Back-of-cab or side-saddle configurations are available from 30-220 DGE to meet various fleet range requirements.
“Watson’s broad experience with engineered structural solutions and their long-standing ties to transportation OEM’s significantly increases our capabilities to service our fleet customers,”said Rod Grandy, Mainstay’s CEO. “Watson’s manufacturing capacity, combined with our proprietary designs and high pressure expertise, will enable us to scale quickly and meet the growing market demand for CNG-powered trucks.”
