TEN-T Finances Introduction of LNG to French Regional Waterways

fisher EZR-DN50调压器,EZR-161EB压力调节阀,EZR指挥式调压器.An EU TEN-T Programme aims to introduce greener fuels in French regional water transport and pave the way to their wide deployment in line with the new EU requirements on the reduction of maritime transport emissions. Project partners include Grand Port Maritime du Havre, Grand Port Maritime de Rouen, Ports Normands Associes, Port Autonome de Paris, Port de Dieppe and Département de Seine Maritime.
TEN-T will provide €493,000 (USD 521k) to co-finance a regional project supporting the use of alternative fuels, in particular liquefied natural gas (LNG), in the Seine river and the French Channel area. The project is expected to reduce environmental impact and cut down on fuel consumption in water transport.
This study will focus on the regulation, safety and installation aspects of the necessary infrastructure to support the deployment of alternative fuels. It will also transfer knowledge to about 75 stakeholders in eight ports through a specific training programme preparing the participants on the use of low emission fuels.
The project was selected for EU funding with the assistance of external experts under the TEN-T Annual Call 2013, priority ‘Decarbonisation / substitution or environmental cost reduction’. Its implementation will be monitored by INEA, the European Commission’s Innovation and Networks Executive Agency.
The project is to be completed by December 2015.
